"i got a c and an a in my alphabet fries at lunch today, and it made me think of you. at least i think it was a c...it might have been a g" thats my sister. cute. so, today i was thinking about blogging. really. who thinks that they are interesting enough that people would want to read about them? well, the answer is a shitload of people. and hey, i'm writing this, so....guilty as charged, but i get to at least disguise my vanity as something to do with a magazine...that i never talk about... i want to congratulate everyone out there who blogs for being so ballsy. i will peer into your lives, like I allow you to peer into mine. in other news- i would like to send a "shout out", as they say, to people who get up and dance at live shows. not many do that anymore, and my hunch is that it is because you think you will look like an idiot. you won't. i promise. i'm sorry that i didn't dance last night, hilary - you know i would of normally. now i feel obligated to say something about the magazine. umm.... well... it's almost done. and the cover is going to look fantastic. that's all for now. hello children, here is my triumphant return to the blogworld. the reason for my tardiness is simply this: i have been in a party-time state for the last month and am just now relearning how to use my appendages. so, merry christmas, happy new year, et cetera, et cetera. i am now at work, listening to radiohead and some phantom basement band (lifeinthecatacomb.blogspot.com), and working on the january/february issue of our little magazine. i must say that we have evolved greatly and have a lot more editorial. aren't you just gushing with excitement? i would be if i hadn't been staring at the same articles for a couple of weeks now. hilary might be angry with me for sharing this pre-release, but my sister is writing a column for us (starting this month) on what it's like living in korea. she's been there for about 2.5 months and her first entry to the column is great. it's so personal and scary and honest and emotional and intimidating and adjective adjective blah blah. it's really good. plus she sent along alot of really great photos that she's been taking. it's going to shape up nicely over the year if i do say so myself. anyways- that's all i have for now. happy birthday jon johnson. going to see the darcy's tonight at 830 at the children's museum then to ethels. see you there? Final Final Final Final Final Cut?

So - we saw Bladerunner this weekend at The Princess... It was something like the 5th final cut - personally, didn't really notice much of a difference since the one i saw in Mrs. Jackson's Media Class in Grade 12.... but hey - what do i know? And DOES NOT feature Wesley Snipes wearing sunglasses and killing vampires) Then we hit the Huether for a couple cheap pints - and debated if Deckard is a replicant or not for about 4 hours. i'm accepting opinons now.... H.

Falafel - easy to spell

Not so easy to make. (Yes, we are in the middle of production for the Jan/Feb issue (out on Jan 18th) but as a little sideproject we decided to make some falafel and couscous and salad and hummus and delicious pita for dinner last nite.) they seem easy to make.... I mean, it's fucking chickpeas, garlic and onion in a blender with some cumin and coriander in a blender. anyways, once you blend everything, you mix in some of that white baking stuff... then add some breadcrumbs... roll'em into little balls, flatten them out a little... then fry them in veggie oil. but ... apparently, there's some secret. It might be coating them in some sort of mixture.... anyways, by about the 13th one, we figured it out... made about 24 and then things started to go downhill again, so we decided 24 falafel were enough. the couscous was another story. if you have any falafel making tips. please send then to us. H.

New Year's Eve.

Not too much to say about New Year's Eve - it was a great nite..... I think the photos pretty much sum it up. I always love it when there are NO photos from the beginning of the nite.... and then all of a sudden.... everyone is pretty much wrecked and the camera comes out. lol. Here's our nite in 4 photos: this is actually how we work on the magazine. Cassie covers my eyes until everything is done and has gone to press. This is Ronnie one of our interns. She's writing for the Jan/Feb issue... she wrote her article that nite. It should be good. Midnight :) This is when things started to get a little messy. This one is right before Cassie punks off and leaves me to sleep on the dining room floor... somewhere between an open champagne bottle and the spinach dip.

2008...
