Holy People of Qatalyst. This blog is boring! Can we please do something to spice it up? our lack of interesting information and photos is contributing to the fact that there is nothing interesting on the internet! Ok - saying that. I have NOTHING interesting to Blog about - Except! Oh! Last Friday - I went to DAYDREAM NATION's Second Anniversary Party at Van Gogh's Ear in Guelph. Daydream Nation is an amazing little record store in downtown Guelph, run by Ricky... he's pretty cool. We like him. Anyways - it was hilarious - ran into a bunch of mutual friends - had a little misunderstanding thinking that the 2nd floor of Van Gogh's was actually the third. YiKES. Anyone who's been there knows what I mean. lol. Also - Qatalyst has been keeping an eye and an ear on the CKMS Referendum that is set to happen on Feb 12th. It's pretty disturbing - the whole political evilness that's apparent even at a University level - no wonder national and international politics are so f'ked. Our stance? Well, Qatalyst obviously supports any local independent media that can stay out of the corporate clutches... but saying that, we have requested a breakdown of the CKMS operating budget.... so that we can decide for ourselves if the station is being run by a few well paid people... or really being run by student and a volunteer base with most of the costs going to fees and operations. We'll see. We're working on a more detailed look of the CKMS situation in the March issue. Anyways, post your thoughts as always... hope this was slightly interesting... or at least let you avoid filling out that form that your boss wants back ASAP because they have to hand it into their boss and pawn it off as their own work. xoxo H.
